Turtle Brownies
Recipe Yield: One 18 x 26-inch sheet pan

Deluxe Brownie Mix with Pecans and a topping of chocolate chips and caramels.
Ingredients:
 
   BROWNIES
2 3/4  cups  Hot water (120 degrees F)
4  tsp.  Maple flavor
1  box (6 lb.)  Pillsbury Deluxe Brownie Mix
4  cups (1 lb.)  Pecans, coarsely chopped
   TOPPING
50  14 1/2 oz.  Caramels, unwrapped
1/2  cup  Milk
3  cups (1 lb. 2 oz.)  Chocolate chips
 
Instructions:
  • Pour water into mixer bowl; add maple flavor and brownie mix. Mix according to package directions.
  • Spread batter evenly in 18 x 26-inch sheet pan which has been greased on bottom only; sprinkle with pecans. Bake according to package directions.
  • Melt caramels with milk in small saucepot over low heat, stirring occasionally. Immediately after removing brownies from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips. Drizzle with warm caramel. Cool completely before cutting into bars or squares.
  • Variation - Omit chocolate chips. When cool, drizzle brownies with Chocolate Fudge Glaze.
  • Chocolate Fudge Glaze - Heat 1 cup (9 oz.) Pillsbury Milk Chocolate or Chocolate Fudge Ready-To-Spread Icing to drizzling consistency.
